Tear-Trough Treatment

Tear-Trough Treatment

The tear trough is the area between your cheek and lower eyelid. As we age, we lose volume in this area, causing under-eye dark circles, hollows and eye bags to appear. An effective tear trough treatment is to inject filler into this area – restoring the lost volume and reducing the appearance of dark circles and hollows.

Tear trough fillers are an effective way to treat dark circles under the eyes and under-eye hollows. By injecting filler under the eyes, we fill the volume lost by ageing – lightening dark circles, filling under eye hollows and wrinkles. This treatment also improves skin quality by boosting collagen production and hydrating skin from the inside.

What to do after?

Patients should resist touching the area for at least six hours following the filler treatment. After this time they can gently wash the area with water and soap. Patients should avoid using make-up or other skincare products for at least the first four hours following the treatment.

Will I bruise and or swell?

Whilst every client is different, this particular treatment usually incurs swelling and or bruising. Although using a cannula will reduce the bruising do expect some swelling and possible bruising.

How long does tear trough filler take to settle?

Please keep in mind that filler can take up to two weeks to fully settle, if you’re unhappy with your results after this time, make a follow-up appointment with your practitioner.
